September 17, 2021

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Rep. Dan Newhouse (R-WA) announced that the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) has awarded grant funding to the City of Granger through its Economic Impact Initiative Grant Program. The funds will be used to replace two police cars that have high mileage and require significant servicing, improving operations for the police department and benefiting the city's residents.

"With the unprecedented challenges they have faced over the last several months, our Central Washington law enforcement officers need our support more than ever," said Rep. Newhouse. "I am pleased to see these well-deserved funds awarded to the Granger police department so they will have the resources they need as they selflessly put their lives in the line to protect our neighbors, families, and communities."

Background:

The City of Granger will receive $52,300 as part of this grant funding.

The purpose of the Economic Impact Initiative Grant Program is to provide funding to assist in the development of essential community facilities in rural communities with extreme unemployment and severe economic depression.
