Newhouse Blasts Biden’s First 100 Days, Failure to Fulfill His Promises

April 28, 2021

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Rep. Dan Newhouse (R-WA) released the following statement ahead of President Biden's joint address to Congress where he is expected to promote his actions from the first 100 days of his Administration:

"It's odd that President Biden is choosing to restrict access to an event aimed at reaching across the aisle. It's clearly not COVID-related as many members are vaccinated and are already interacting with one another during votes," said Rep. Newhouse. "I look forward to hearing what the President says and whether he will attempt to bridge the partisan divide that's been growing over the first 100 days of his term."

He continued, "I'm disappointed President Biden has failed to fulfill his promise of working in a bipartisan manner. From pushing the limits of executive authority and refusing to address the crisis he created at our southern border to unilaterally eliminating thousands of good-paying jobs by executive order, he is not leading America in the right direction. I hope, for the sake of our country, that he will come to the table, embrace real solutions, and negotiate in good faith as we work to solve the many issues facing the United States."
