Press Release

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Rep. Dan Newhouse (R-WA) announced that the City of Moses Lake was one of 25 small towns to win a T-Mobile Hometown Grant to jumpstart vital community development projects to re-energize the town and build upon what makes it unique. The funds will be used to set up a creative community incubator that will have art, live music, events, a lounge, and a maker space.

“This grant funding is great news for Central Washington,” said Rep. Newhouse. “Moses Lake is quickly becoming a regional hub for innovation and growth, and these funds will further power that development by highlighting the remarkable creativity our rural communities have to offer and enabling them to share it with others. I appreciate T-Mobile’s investment in rural America and encourage private ventures to take note of what a special community we have in Moses Lake.”

The City of Moses Lake will receive $50,000 through this program.

T-Mobile partnered with Main Street America and Smart Growth America, two consulting partners with a combined experience of more than 60 years working to help build stronger, more prosperous small towns and rural communities. Together, they determined the grant recipients based on detail and fullness of the submission, community impact, viability of the project among other factors. Recipients are selected and awarded on a quarterly basis, so towns with populations less than 50,000 are eligible and encouraged to apply
