Newhouse Honored with Spirit of Enterprise Award
PASCO – Rep. Dan Newhouse (R-WA) was honored at the TRIDEC General Membership Luncheon in Pasco yesterday when he was presented with the U.S. Chamber of Commerce “Spirit of Enterprise Award” for his support of pro-growth, pro-jobs policies in Congress.
“Growing the economy, boosting trade opportunities for Washington state exporters, and stimulating job creation in the private sector are my priorities in Congress,” said Rep. Newhouse. “I am pleased to accept the Spirit of Enterprise Award for supporting commonsense policies that encourage American entrepreneurship.”
“The U.S. Chamber’s Spirit of Enterprise Award recognizes members of Congress who are dedicated to advancing policies that strengthen our economy,” said Chris Eyler, Executive Director, Northwest Region for the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. “In just his first year in Congress, Rep. Dan Newhouse has demonstrated that he knows what Washington state’s and America’s businesses need to succeed.”
The Chamber’s prestigious Spirit of Enterprise Award is given annually to members of Congress based on their votes on critical business legislation This is the 28th year that the U.S. Chamber has formally honored the accomplishments of this select group of members of Congress, and the first time Rep. Newhouse was eligible to receive the award.
The U.S. Chamber of Commerce is the world’s largest business federation representing the interests of more than 3 million businesses of all sizes, sectors, and regions, as well as state and local chambers and industry associations.
