Newhouse Questions Gov. Inslee’s Hypocritical Climate Proposals

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Rep. Dan Newhouse (R-WA) released the following statement in response to the climate proposals for the 2022 legislative session released by Governor Inslee earlier this week.

"This week, in the latest of his questionable moves, Governor Inslee released a climate proposal intended to support Washington's "clean energy and economic growth" while actively working to tear down our dams, the very same clean energy infrastructure that serves as the backbone of the Pacific Northwest's renewable, affordable, carbon-free energy. As if that wasn't hypocritical enough, his plan focuses on benefitting Seattle and other West-side communities at the expense of our communities in Central Washington.

Governor Inslee is clearly more concerned with appearing climate-friendly than actually supporting the clean energy infrastructure communities in Central Washington and across the state rely upon. No matter how big a bow he ties, Central Washington won't be fooled by this package."
