Newhouse Reacts to Passage of Omnibus Spending Bill and COVID-19 Relief Package
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Rep. Dan Newhouse (R-WA) released the following statement after voting to support the Senate Amendment to H.R. 133, the Consolidated Appropriations Act, to fund the federal government through Fiscal Year 2021 and provide additional COVID-19 relief to Central Washington communities:
"This funding package includes a number of priorities for Central Washington – from strengthening our world-class agricultural industry and water supply infrastructure to supporting energy innovation at the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory and ensuring the cleanup efforts at Hanford continue in a timely manner," said Rep. Newhouse. "After months of refusing to negotiate, Speaker Pelosi and House Democrats stopped withholding critical COVID-19 relief, and I am proud to have finally delivered additional relief to families, workers, and businesses throughout our district. This long overdue package does not address all of our concerns, but it makes significant progress to help our communities recover from this pandemic, reopen our society, and rebuild our way of life."
