Newhouse Statement on Announcement to Build New PNNL Energy Sciences Research Building
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Representative Dan Newhouse (R-WA) released the following statement after the U.S. Department of Energy Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL) announced the award of a contract to build a new energy sciences research building at PNNL.
"PNNL's Energy Sciences Capability Project keeps our National Lab's work at the forefront of science," said Rep. Newhouse. "I have worked hard to secure robust federal support for this effort and am pleased to see the project progressing. The Tri-Cities community is proud to provide a home to this state-of-the-art research facility, where innovation will benefit the entire country and support local jobs and economic growth."
Rep. Newhouse supported House passage of appropriations legislation signed into law by President Trump in 2018 to support the Energy Sciences Capability Project.
