Newhouse Statement on Passing of Rep. Louise Slaughter

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Rep. Dan Newhouse (R-WA) released the following statement on the passing of Rep. Louise Slaughter (D-NY):
"My friendship with my colleague Louise went beyond politics," said Rep. Newhouse. "Louise's friendship, and her kind words and counsel, were a source of comfort for me while overcoming my own recent, deep personal loss. I mourn the passing of a dear friend. I extend my sincere condolences to her children and grandchildren."
