Newhouse Statement on Senate Health Care Vote

July 28, 2017

WASHINGTON D.C. – Today, Rep. Dan Newhouse (R-WA) released the following statement on the Senate's vote last night on health care legislation:

"I am deeply disappointed that after the House passed a bill to repeal and replace Obamacare, the Senate failed to send any proposal in return for a conference," said Rep. Newhouse. "For families facing higher insurance premiums and fewer options, nothing has changed: the Affordable Care Act is still broken, and leaving it in place as is will not fix it. The status quo is unsustainable and unacceptable, and I will continue to work in Congress to fix our health care system for families in Central Washington."
