Community Project Funding Request Form
FY26 Community Project Funding Request Form
The Committee on Appropriations announced that it will be accepting Community Project Funding requests from Members of Congress, designed to deliver additional, targeted federal funding to select projects in districts across the country. Rep. Newhouse's office is currently accepting eligible requests for project funding which will help improve the lives of Central Washington and support the economic prosperity of our state. All Community Project Funding requests must be submitted by Monday, April 21 at 6:00 p.m. PDT / 9:00 p.m. EDT.
Prior to applying, please review guidance from the House Committee on Appropriations HERE.
Before submitting a Community Project Funding (CPF) request for Fiscal Year 2026 (FY26), please carefully review the following information HERE and below. In accordance with the House Rules and guidance provided by the House Appropriations Committee, Congressman Newhouse will only consider requests that have a clear federal nexus within accounts outlined below that meet underlying statutory and regulatory requirements. In general:
- Projects must have federal nexus--a project that is tied to a federal authorization law--and meet other eligibility requirements established by federal law, House Rules, and the House Appropriations Committee.
- Memorials, museums, and commemorative projects are not eligible for CFP.
- Many programs require a non-federal cost-share match and participation in program audits--these requirements will not be waived by the Committee.
- Applicant must be an eligible state, local or Tribal government or non-profit organization--no requests for for-profit recipients will be considered. Non-profit organizations are not eligible for every account (e.g., Department of Agriculture, Natural Resources Conservation Service, Conservation Operations).
- Non-profit organizations must provide evidence that the organization is described as such under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 by either supplying the Employer Identification Number or IRS determination letter.
- Applicant must provide evidence of community support for the requested project. Examples include letters of support from elected community leaders, project listed on State intended use plans or community development plans, press articles highlighting the need, etc.
- Each project must be for FY26 funds only and cannot include a request for multiyear funding.
Important: Receiving a CPF in the final bill does not guarantee the entity will receive funding. Recipients included, but not funded, in the final FY25 House Bills may receive priority consideration for submission in FY26.
All requests must be submitted by Monday, April 21 at 6:00 p.m. PDT / 9:00 p.m. EDT.
Supplemental documentation, including demonstrated community support, must be received no later than Friday, April 25 at 6:00 p.m. PDT / 9:00 p.m. EDT.
