Education

Across the nation, we are seeing a concerning rise in parents being kept out of the loop when decisions are made about their own children. Our schools are empowered to teach based on personal biases and opinions, neglecting to notify parents when children are struggling with various crises, sidestepping parental choice.

This cannot continue and is why I am taking the necessary steps to protect the students of Central Washington and encourage transparency in our system.

I was proud to sponsor and help pass H.R. 5, the Parents Bill of Rights Act, which would put practices in place to facilitate meaningful dialog between a family and their child's school and lead to more parental input throughout the learning process. I also supported H.R. 734, the Protection of Women and Girls in Sports Act, to defend female athletes across the country, ensure we’re giving our women and girls a fair playing field, and keep biological males out of women’s sports.

As the war in Israel rages on, I am committed to fighting the rise of antisemitism in our post-secondary schools and oppose the radical efforts to unfairly cancel student loan debt. I was also proud to combat the Administration’s efforts to prohibit school archery and hunting programs from receiving federal funding—a clear example of the federal government sticking its hand where it shouldn’t be.
