Newhouse Praises USDA Launch of Farmers.gov Features to Improve Navigation of H-2A Application
WASHINGTON, D.C.—Today, Representative Dan Newhouse (R-WA) released the following statement praising the U.S. Department of Agriculture's (USDA) launch of two new features on farmers.gov to help customers manage their farm loans and navigate the application process for H2A visas.
"Today's launch of online features to help navigate the H-2A process and manage farm loans is the latest example of the Trump administration taking action to fulfill its commitment to modernize the H-2A program for our nation's farmers and agriculture producers," said Rep. Newhouse. "The administration is already working to streamline H-2A advertising and implement farm labor housing eligibility updates directed by my amendment to The Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2018. I applaud Agriculture Secretary Sonny Perdue and the Trump administration for hearing the labor concerns of agriculture and responding with an interagency effort to streamline the burdensome H-2A process."
