Newhouse Statement on White House Immigration Framework for DACA and Border Security Solution

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Rep. Dan Newhouse (R-WA) released the following statement on the White House's announcement of an immigration framework that would provide a pathway to citizenship for Dreamers and $25 billion for border security:

"President Trump's announcement gives Congress an outline for a legislative solution that provides certainty for Dreamers and secures the border – a compromise that meets key requirements of both sides," said Rep. Newhouse. "I applaud the President's leadership in offering a plan that brings us closer than ever to a solution that gives certainty for Dreamers – including 18,000 DACA recipients in Washington state – and secures our borders. I look forward to continuing to work with the President and seeing legislation signed into law."
