WASHINGTON, D.C. – Last Friday, Rep. Dan Newhouse (WA-04) joined the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and Tri-City Regional Chamber of Commerce for a discussion on the Working Families Tax Cuts law passed by Congress and signed by the President in July.

"I thank the Tri-City Chamber for inviting me to their Leaders Luncheon to discuss the many tax provisions we secured throughout the reconciliation process," said Rep. Newhouse.

At the end of this week, Congress recesses for the annual August district work period. While I hope to spend some time with my son as he is preparing for the busy harvest season, I will also be making time to hear from constituents, business owners, and local leaders about everything we have accomplished in D.C. House Republicans have made real progress in delivering common-sense, conservative priorities this Congress, and we have more work to do. Here’s a look at some positive wins from the last six months that will impact us here at home.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Last week, President Trump signed H.R. 1, the Big, Beautiful Bill Act, into law. This legislation delivers tax relief for working families and small businesses, protects nuclear energy investments, and strengthens the agriculture industry.

Here's what they are saying about the Big, Beautiful Bill Act (H.R. 1):

House Republicans made a commitment at the outset of the 119th Congress to rein in government spending, keep taxes low for hard working Americans, and make common-sense reforms to our federal assistance programs that guarantee their viability into the future. I made a promise that I would work through this process with Central Washington’s best interests in mind, and I believe H.R. 1 delivers on our commitment while securing real wins for Washington’s Fourth District to address the challenges we face here at home.

Weekly Columns and Op-Eds

Recently, it seems the daily news is filled with rampant misinformation around the budget resolution passed by the House of Representatives and my vote to support it. Activist campaigns and false media reports are attempting to paint a picture that Republicans in the House voted to cut funding to Medicaid and Medicare. This is causing a public panic and suggesting people in need will not receive benefits. Therefore, I feel compelled to set the record straight and let you know this is not true.
