ICE: “We just don’t have as many personnel to go out to pick up at-large individuals”

Yesterday, Rep. Dan Newhouse (WA-04) questioned Patrick Lechleitner, Acting Director of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), on the agency's annual budget request and how the crisis at the Southern Border is causing other sectors of the Department of Homeland Security to fall behind.

Acting Director Lechleitner cited ICE’s inability to detain at-large illegal immigrants currently inside the country due to the agency’s resources being pulled to assist with the record high flow of illegal immigrants flooding the Southern Border.
