Dan Newhouse (R-WA) released the following statement on voting yesterday to support passage of H.R. 36, the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act, which bans abortions after 20 weeks post fertilization, with exceptions to save the life of the mother or in cases of rape or incest.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Rep. Dan Newhouse (R-WA) released the following statement after voting to support passage of H.R 1732, the Regulatory Integrity Protection Act of 2015, requiring the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (Corps) to withdraw the Waters of the United States (WOTUS) rule. H.R. 1732 passed the House on a vote of 261—155.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Rep. Dan Newhouse (R-WA) introduced H.R. 2097, the Bureau of Reclamation Surface Water Storage Streamlining Act of 2015 to streamline the Bureau of Reclamation's environmental planning and study process for new surface water storage projects. The bill would apply the same streamlined water project development process used by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers under the Water Resources Reform Development Act of 2014 to the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation in order to facilitate the construction of new dams and reservoirs.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Rep. Dan Newhouse (R-WA) led 36 Members in a letter to U.S. Department of the Interior Secretary Sally Jewell and Director of U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service Dan Ashe urging the Administration to move forward with the implementation of its proposed rule, published on June 13, 2013, to delist the gray wolf (Canis lupus) nationally from the "List of Endangered and Threatened Wildlife" under the Endangered Species Act (ESA).

Dan Newhouse (R-WA) introduced H.R. 1985, the Pacific Northwest Gray Wolf Management Act of 2015 to remove the gray wolf from the "List of Endangered and Threatened Wildlife" under the Endangered Species Act (ESA) and return management authority for the species back to the individual Pacific Northwest states. Rep. Greg Walden (R-OR) and Rep. Chris Stewart (R-UT) joined Rep. Newhouse to introduce this legislation as original co-sponsors:
