Impeachment is one of the most serious responsibilities afforded to Congress, and that sobering responsibility has not been lost on me. The people of Central Washington sent me to our nation's capital to represent them, and I believe – when it comes to charging a President with the articles of impeachment – Members must focus on the facts presented. House Democrats failed to present fact-based evidence of high crimes or misdemeanors committed by President Trump.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Rep. Dan Newhouse (R-WA) announced the winners of the 2019 Central Washington Congressional App Challenge, an app competition for K-12 students. Three 12th graders of Kennewick High School and Tri-Tech Skills Center – Maxwell Blake, Preston Ryan, and Lucas Kaser – have been named the competition winners. Their winning app, Clean Streets, aims to bring awareness to the environment and teaches users to separate items that are recyclable from those that are simply trash.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Rep. Dan Newhouse (R-WA) voted against adoption of both Article I and Article II of H.Res 755, Impeaching Donald John Trump, President of the United States, for high crimes and misdemeanors. Article I passed the House by a vote 230-187-1 with 195 Republicans and 2 Democrats voting in opposition, and 1 Democrat voting present. Article II passed the House by a vote of 229-198-1 with 195 Republicans and 3 Democrats voting in opposition, and 1 Democrat voting present.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Rep. Dan Newhouse (R-WA) voted to approve spending legislation for Fiscal Year 2020. H.R. 1158 and H.R. 1865 contain the language of all 12 Appropriations bills and provide funding to avoid a government shutdown ahead of the deadline on December 20, 2019.

In 1964, the United States and Canada ratified the Columbia River Treaty to increase coordination between our countries on power generation and flood control issues, along with critical support of irrigation, navigation, and ecosystem habitat needs. While the treaty has provided a useful framework for these needs, there are severe distortions that have greatly—and unfairly—burdened Americans living in the greater Northwest region.

WASHINGTON, DC – Today, the Farm Workforce Modernization Act, a bipartisan bill spearheaded by Reps. Zoe Lofgren (D-CA-19) and Dan Newhouse (R-WA-04), passed the U.S. House of Representatives with a 260-165 vote.
