Xochitl Torres Small (D-NM) and Dan Newhouse (R-WA) led a group of bipartisan Members of Congress to introduce H.R. 4243, the Rural Maternal and Obstetric Modernization of Services (MOMS) Act, which aims to improve healthcare access for new and expecting mothers in rural communities nationwide. The bill will make important strides toward addressing rural maternal mortality and morbidity rates by expanding convenient and consistent access to healthcare services for pregnant women and new mothers in remote areas.

These grants, which are part of the Department of the Interior's WaterSMART program, aim to help water entities across the nation use water more efficiently and improve water supply reliability.

Chellie Pingree (D-ME) and Dan Newhouse (R-WA) introduced the bipartisan Food Date Labeling Act, a bill designed to end consumer confusion around food date labeling and ensure Americans do not throw out perfectly good food. Studies have shown that Americans are confused by food date labels, resulting in a significant amount of edible food ending up in landfills. H.R. 3981 will reduce food waste by standardizing date labels on food products. Reps.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, the U.S. Department of Agriculture announced the details of a $16 billion package aimed at supporting American agriculture producers affected by unjustified retaliatory tariffs by China. The Market Facilitation Program, which provides direct payments and financial relief to producers, included aid for Northwest cherry growers, thanks to a provision secured by Representative Dan Newhouse (R-WA) and Senator Maria Cantwell (D-WA).
