WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Reps. Dan Newhouse (R-WA) and Cathy McMorris Rodgers (R-WA) released a joint statement following the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) request to transfer operations of all USDA Forest Service Job Corps Civilian Conservation Centers (Job Corps CCC) to the Department of Labor (DOL).


On Memorial Day, we honor our nation's servicemembers who have given the ultimate sacrifice. We surround their families and loved ones with prayers and support. We lay flowers on memorials, make visits to monuments, and we pay tribute to their service by lowering our flags to half-mast. While it may be easy to associate Memorial Day weekend with barbeques, a day off from work or school, and the start of summer, we cannot forget that there is a reason we observe this day – and each of them have a story.

Dan Newhouse (R-WA) and Jim Costa (D-CA) led a bipartisan letter to the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee to urge inclusion of much-needed water infrastructure provisions in any forthcoming infrastructure package. The letter was signed by 54 Members of Congress.

Newhouse's nominations for each appointee. The honor of attending a service academy comes with the obligation and commitment to serve in the military for a minimum of five years upon graduation.

Dan Newhouse (R-WA) and Cathy McMorris Rodgers (R-WA) released the following joint statement urging Washington Governor Jay Inslee to veto the $750,000 line item in the capital budget that would commission a state-funded study on breaching the federally-owned and operated Snake River dams in Central Washington:


It is no secret that prescription drug costs are high. When we hear about medications being sold for outrageous prices, it is important to remember that they aren't necessarily special drugs for specific treatments or rare diseases. These are medicines that treat high-cholesterol and blood pressure, epi-pens that save the lives of children and adults exposed to an allergen, and insulin that patients with diabetes depend on every day. In Central Washington, we already experience provider shortages, skyrocketing deductibles, and unaffordable premiums.

WASHINGTON, D.C.— Today, Representatives Norma Torres (D-CA), Dan Newhouse (R-WA), and Deb Haaland (D-NM) introduced Savanna's Act, a bill named in honor of Savanna LaFontaine-Greywind, a 22-year-old pregnant member of the Spirit Lake Tribe who was tragically murdered in August 2017.
