WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Rep. Dan Newhouse (WA-04) introduced the Aerial Firefighting Enhancement Act of 2025 to boost aerial wildfire suppression and combat fire threats using excess military aircraft and parts. 

“As wildfires continue to ravage our communities every year, this bipartisan legislation delivers major new assets to our fire suppression fleets for year-round management efforts,” said Rep. Newhouse.

Marie Gluesenkamp Perez introduced the Reliability to Ratepayers Act to address hiring and retention issues at the Bonneville Power Administration (BPA). This bill directs the BPA to develop a comprehensive compensation plan for all employees by allowing the administrator to review and update compensation plans without regard to civil service laws.
