Spending and Economy
Under one-party rule in Washington, D.C., the federal government spent tens of trillions of dollars on initiatives that both drive inflation up and punish small businesses through tax and interest rate hikes. In the meantime, unemployment payouts keep workers at home and out of the labor pipeline needed in our economy. Our tax code remains extensive and complex while continuously demanding more from hardworking Americans to feed outlandish spending habits.
This is unacceptable, which is why as a member of the powerful House Appropriations Committee responsible for all federal spending, I am fighting for a common-sense conservative approach to spending taxpayer dollars that works for Americans and small businesses and protects against disguised tax hikes like the Inflation Reduction Act.

Washington is not a one-size-fits-all state. That can be said of our recreational activities, our professions, our political leanings, and our way of life across the diverse regions of our great state. So, a stay-at-home order should not be one-size-fits-all.
Congress is responsible for funding our country, and we have some difficult decisions to make. I came to Washington D.C. to advocate for the priorities of my constituents, and I have heard loud and clear that the people of Central Washington want to ensure we aren't further saddling our future generations with crippling debt.

"Small businesses are the backbone of the American economy."
A lot of people don't realize exactly how many small businesses are all around us. Whether it be a storefront on Main Street in downtown Ritzville, the local fruit stand off the highway in Selah, or an online boutique operating out of Winthrop, it is very likely that someone you know can call themselves a "small business owner."
