"Our state's staggering unemployment numbers depict just how devastating the current situation is for Washington families. While I was grateful for the Governor's strong approach in the early days of our response, it has become clear that the small steps he has recently taken on adapting his order are nowhere near enough for the people of Washington.
Our local, state, and federal governments are working together to mitigate the impacts of COVID-19 and provide a bridge for our economy – and our society as a whole – to get to the other side of this outbreak.
Congress recently passed the Paycheck Protection Program and Health Care Enhancement Act to replenish the accounts established in the CARES Act for small businesses and healthcare providers.

"Last night, Governor Inslee released a ‘plan' with zero benchmarks, zero concrete details, and zero specifics. For weeks, I have been pressing upon him the importance of developing a substantive plan detailing the criteria necessary for us to move forward with reopening our state and restarting our economy. The Governor's address and his subsequent release of the ‘Washington Recovery Plan' lacks that necessary substance.
Washington is not a one-size-fits-all state. That can be said of our recreational activities, our professions, our political leanings, and our way of life across the diverse regions of our great state. So, a stay-at-home order should not be one-size-fits-all.
