Farmers are struggling given current economic conditions; a recent USDA report pulling 2024 data ranks Washington state 50th in farm profitability. WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Rep. Dan Newhouse (WA-04) released the following statement after the Supreme Court issued its decision in favor of Idaho and West Virginia in West Virginia v. B.P.J. and Little v. Hecox.
Compared to urban and suburban areas, rural communities have fewer inpatient and outpatient clinics to provide care for individuals and families. Often, rural health care facilities are not as modernized and updated as ones in major urban areas, furthering the need for federal investment.

During World War II, the Hanford Site played a pivotal role in propelling the United States to win the nuclear arms race, which put an end to combat in the Pacific Theater. Decades later, as a result of that work, the federal government is still working on the largest environmental cleanup site on the planet, holding up its end of the Tri-Party Agreement to remediate the land.
